When it comes to finding a guitar that blends premium features with affordability, the M600 stands out as a true performer. In a recent review by Mega Music, one of Australia’s most respected musical instrument retailers, the M600 earned high praise for its craftsmanship, tone, and value.

The review was conducted by Jason Smith, Mega Music’s store manager and a seasoned guitarist known for his sharp insights into instrument quality. Jason didn’t hold back his enthusiasm for the M600, calling it “a great little beast” and highlighting its ability to compete with guitars costing twice as much.

The M600 boasts an all-mahogany body and neck for rich, resonant tone, paired with a genuine rosewood fingerboard—a rarity at this price point. Cort goes the extra mile with locking machine heads for effortless restringing and tuning stability. A flame maple veneer top adds visual appeal, complemented by brushed chrome hardware and a classic Tune-O-Matic bridge with stop tailpiece.

Electronics are simple yet effective: two humbuckers deliver warm, thick tones, controlled by a three-way selector with single volume and tone knobs. Jason praised the guitar’s comfortable neck profile, smooth fretwork, and easy upper fret access thanks to its double-cut design.

On stage or in the studio, the M600 shines. Factory-fitted with 10–46 gauge strings, it’s ready for performance right out of the box. Jason noted its impressive sustain and tonal versatility—from clean and warm neck tones to bright and articulate bridge sounds.

“Cort is a super factory that builds for major brands,” Jason remarked, underscoring the brand’s reputation for quality. His verdict? “This guitar looks and plays like something twice its price. For under $1,000, it’s a solid 8 out of 10.”

He added, “If you put this up against a guitar worth $1,800, you’re not going to fault it. It behaves beautifully with volume and gain and rings out true and pure.”

If you’re looking for a guitar that competes with instruments far above its price range, the M600 deserves a spot on your shortlist.
