After graduating from the Musicians Institute (MI) in California, Charlie Jung returned to Korea to launch his music career. Since then, he has released solo albums such as Alone Together, Upside Down, Goodbye McCadden, Sangdo Blues, Sunshine Blue, Sein’s Blues, and Where Are We Going?. In 2014, he was named Musician of the Year by the Korea Readers' Poll, and in 2022, he received the Jazz Performer Award at the Korean Entertainment and Arts Awards.
Charlie Jung's performances are renowned for their mature sound, striking a balance between warm, deep resonance and a dynamic range of delicate expression and explosive energy. While rooted in the emotional core and sound of the blues, his music also skillfully incorporates elements from various genres, including rock, jazz, and pop.
